Clipboard History — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-24 · Dolphin Studio LLC, Wisconsin, USA

Short version: Clipboard History keeps everything on your own device. It collects nothing, sends nothing, and makes no network requests.

What it does

When you copy or cut text on a web page, Clipboard History saves that text to a local list so you can find and re-use it later. That list lives only in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device.

Data we collect

None on our servers. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your clips or any personal or usage data. There is no account, no sync, and no backend. Your clipboard history never leaves your computer, and we cannot see it.

Why it needs access to web pages

The extension runs a small content script on pages so it can detect when you copy or cut text and read the text you just selected. It does not scan, read, or transmit other page content, and it makes no network requests. The host permission exists solely to observe your own copy actions so they can be saved to your local history.

The storage permission

Used only to save your clip history locally so it persists between sessions. Nothing else.

Removing your data

Use “Clear all” in the popup, delete individual clips, or remove the extension — that erases the local history entirely.

Third parties & analytics

None. No analytics, no ads, no trackers, no external SDKs.
